I know it is a little late, but here's MY Mother's Day post. So Mother's Day marked our 1 year Anniversary in AZ. That's right one year ago on Sunday we were driving out to our new home in the desert, and a fun little fact for you...we were also telling my family that we were expecting are little Miss Bailey (crazy how time flies). After a year and one AZ summer while pregnant I can tell you that we love it out here. The summers are a little warm, but we live in a great neighborhood and are in an amazing ward. It is a great place to raise our family and we can't wait to make many more memories out here!
Onto our Mother's Day activities...my Aunt and Uncle were visiting this past weekend, and that included their 7 (minus 1 on the mission) boys with spouses and kids...crazy, but so fun! So needless to say we had a full house for Mother's Day. My day started with finishing up the final touches for my talk, that's right Clint and I had to speak in church on Mother's Day. You would think that they would find a more experienced MOM for Mother's Day, but I think we did pretty good. After church we relaxed at home and got ready for the Kasper crew to arrive for dinner. Sometime before dinner Clint set out some gifts from him and Bailey which I saved to open right before I put Bailey to bed. After a few tears from reading Clint and Bailey's cards I opened up the gifts, and made out pretty well. The gift card was from Clint and the necklace was from Bailey...I love them both and I have to admit I was VERY impressed (props to the hubs). I love being a mom and especially Bailey's. She is such a blessing and I feel so blessed that Heavenly Father has trusted me to be her mother! I know that I have only been at this motherhood job for about 6 months, but I also know that we as mothers and women don't always get the validation that we deserve. So I will leave you with one of my favorite qoutes from my talk...Happy Mother's Day again to you all!
*For Satan has declared war on motherhood. He knows that those who rock the cradle can rock his earthly empire. And he knows that without righteous mothers loving and leading the next generation, the kingdom of God will fail. -Sheri L. Dew
I LOVE being her MOM!
