What a Weekend!

This last weekend we had both families here in Arizona for Bailey's baby blessing, and since everyone was out here we also had my sis-in-law Liz's last baby shower. My family arrived Wednesday evening and were so excited to see how much Bailey has changed since they last saw her in November. My sis-in-law, Ashley, and nephew, Gabe, were also able to come down to meet her for the first time which was really great. My little brother was not able to come down, which was a bummer, but we get to see him next week up in Washington (missed you brother)! It was great for us to see Gabe and Bailey together, and to see how much Gabe has changed since we haven't seen him since June. Clint's family arrived late Friday evening, and Saturday afternoon is when the festivities began!

Liz's pirate themed baby shower turned out super cute, and she was able to get most of the big stuff that they still needed before their little guy comes in a few weeks. I made her a diaper cake that we also used as decoration for the food table. The cake turned out great, but once Melissa added the decorations she brought you would have thought that you were on a pirate ship! It was great catching up with everyone there, seeing everyone's babies, and celebrating with Liz. Only a few more weeks and Bailey will have a playmate, and she told me she can't wait! Saturday evening we all got together at Kevin and Melissa house for dinner to celebrate Brent's upcoming birthday. We had burgers and homemade french fries (fries curtesy of my dad), and watched the boys try to play the Wii fit. It was great to hang out with the family and my personal favorite was watching Blake try hula hoop and do step arobics on the Wii!

Pirate diaper cake...so cute!

Sunday morning came very quickly and I awoke early to make sure that we were not late on this special day. Bailey was blessed by her dad and all of his brother, her two grandfathers, and our Bishop stood in the circle with him. Clint and Bailey did such a great job! He was a little nervous, seeing as how he hates speaking in public, but he gave a beautiful blessing and our Bishop assured him that kids 2 through 6 will be much easier. SIX? Maybe he knows something we don't! Bailey was asleep until Clint took her up, but he said that she just sat there and looked up at him like she was listening (he also said that his hand shaking underneath her probably helped a little, because she might have thought she was in her bouncer, but I like her listening better). After the blessing we had everyone over to the house for a delicious lunch and lots of socializing. We also got to get some great pics of cousins and grandparents together...these are the memory makers!

Bailey's Blessing Dress (it's the same one I wore for mine, thanks for keeping it mom!)

Bailey has blessed our lives so much and we love having her in our family. Heavenly Father has blessed our lives so much in the last year and we know that he has a plan for each of us. We can't wait to see what Bailey's journey will bring! We love you Bailey and will always be here for you...Love, Mom and Dad!
